Breaking: Court Appeal Reinstates Ayogu Eze As Enugu APC Guber Candidate
Court of Appeal Sitting in Abuja has set aside the judgment delivered by the Federal High Court, in Abuja, which annulled the primary election that produced Senator Ayogu Eze, as the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Enugu
ElombahNews had, On March 5, reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] removed APC from the Enugu State governorship election coming up on March 9, 2019.
The final list published by INEC on its website and signed by the Secretary, Ms. Rose Oriaran-Anthony, shows that Enugu APC had no candidate for the election.
INEC explained that the omission is in obedience to court order which sacked the party’s candidate, Senator Ayogu Eze.
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja had sacked Senator Eze as the Enugu State’s governorship candidate.
The presiding judge, Hon. Justice I. Ekwo had asked INEC to recognize Barr. George Ogara as the authentic candidate.
However, as at deadline, the APC National Working Committee (NWC) was yet to obey the order of the court to submit Ogara’s to INEC.
