BREAKING: Court remands ex-JAMB Registrar—Ojerinde over alleged N5.2b fraud
Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has, on Tuesday, ordered that former Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Adedibu Ojerinde be remanded in prison custody.
Justice Egwuatu ordered that Ojerinde be remanded pending the hearing of his bail application on July 8.
Ojerinde was arraigned by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) on an 18-count charge with case file marked FHC/ABJ/CR/97/2021.
He was accused, among others, of complicity in the diversion of public funds estimated at over N5.2billion.
According to the charge, Ojerinde allegedly committed the said offences between 2003 and 2021 when he served as the Registrar of the National Examination Council (NECO).
Ojerinde pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him.
