Comptroller-General [CG] of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), retired Col. Hammed Ali has, following his summon to the National Assembly by the Senate, stormed the Assembly in civilian outfit despite Senate order that he appears in Customs uniform.
It may be recalled that the Senate has agreed to issue warrant of arrest to compel the Comptroller-General of Customs, to appear before it on Thursday,
The senate unanimously passed the motion at their plenary on Wednesday, when it is obvious that Ali will not honour the earlier invitation extended to him to appear before them on the said day.
It should be noted that Ali had earlier written to the Senate informing it that he would not be able to honour the summons, as he was due to attend a fortnightly meeting of the NCS management.
The decision of the Senate came at the time that the Nigeria Customs suspended the implementation of its policy for duty payments on old vehicles.
