The Edo State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers [NUT] will commence indefinite strike on Friday over a backlog of unpaid salaries, pensions and arrears, ElombahNews has gathered.
The Union resolved to go on strike after talks with the state government failed to yield positive results.
This medium was informed that some teachers are owed as much as 10 moths salaries, some more, some less.
Efforts to reach the the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Edo State Governor, Mr John Mayaki, for his input over the looming strike has not yielded fruit as the contacted officer is yet to pick his calls.
