The Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Lands and Urban Development in Enugu State, Mr. Augustine Udeh has been rescued from his abductors on Tuesday.
Mr. Udeh was abducted Sunday evening between Isu-Awaa and the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) Ituku-Ozalla, along the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway.
The Permanent Secretary said that no ransom was paid, rather that he was rescued.
He thanked Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State as well as security agencies for their swift interventions.
He also thanked Nigerians, especially civil servants in the state for their prayers and support.
Mr. Udeh has since been reunited with his family.
