BREAKING: Nigerian Lady Trafficked To Lebanon Freed From Slavery
Handed Over To Ambassador In Beirut
The young Nigerian lady who was trafficked to Lebanon, Ms. Ajayi Omolola has been freed from her abductors, ElombahNews has been informed.
It was further learnt that Ms. Omolola, a 23 years old single mother who hails from Osun state, has been handed over to the Nigerian Ambassador in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.
ElombahNews had, on January 9, 2020, reported how Ajayi, in 2 minutes video posted online, said that she is subjected to slavery in Lebanon.
She added that she was deceived by his agent to come to Lebanon to teach small children English language but was forced into slavery.
In the meantime, two Nigerians and one Lebanese have been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps [NSCDC] for alleged involvement in human trafficking in Kwara state.
The three suspects are Wasit Muhammad; Olatunji Sanusi, a lawyer and Tunde, as well as one Joseph, who is presently at large.
The case was later handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), according to the Press Secretary to Kwara state Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Rafiu Ajakaye.
Governor AbdulRazaq, condemning the rising trend of human trafficking in the country, said it is inhuman and unacceptable.
He, therefore, warned that anyone caught should face the full weight of the law.
