The Senate has, on Thursday, summoned President Muhammadu Buhari to address the legislature on the spate of killings in Benue State, as well other states across Nigeria, especially the Northern region.
The lawmakers of the upper legislative chamber agreed to hold a joint session with Members of the House of Representatives.
Meanwhile, House of Representatives Members had also, on Wednesday, invited the President over the same issue.
The Senators raised serious apprehension over the competence of the country’s security chiefs.
They also sought to declare a state of emergency in the states experiencing security crises.
The decisions to summon the president followed the recent killing of two priests and 17 worshippers in a Catholic church in Benue State.
