Buhari appoints Banire AMCON Chairman, Kunbi Smith PSC Chairman

Kunbi Smith is confirmed as Chairman of the Police Service Commission

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a former Legal Adviser of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Dr. Muiz Banire, as Chairman of the Governing Board of the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria.

President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, at the plenary on Tuesday, read Buhari’s letters to the legislature in which he sought the approval of the chamber.

The Senate also considered Report of the Committee on Police Affairs by Senator Abu Ibrahim on the confirmation of the nomination of the following persons for appointment as Chairman and members of the Police Service Commission (PSC).

The President also appointed the chairman and 12 commissioners of the Federal Civil Service Commission.

Senator seconded that the Senate do consider the report of the Committee on Police Affairs on the confirmation of the nomination of the above persons for appointment as Chairman and members of the Police Service Commission (PSC).

Thereafter:

  • Musiliu Adeola Kunbi Smith CFR, FNIM, fwc is confirmed as Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC).
    Justice Clara Bata Ogunbiyi, (FNICArb) Rtd is confirmed as full time Commissioner of the Police Service Commission (PSC).
  • Lawal Bawa (AIG) Rtd, CON, mni is confirmed as full time Commissioner of the Police Service Commission (PSC).
    Muhammad H. Najatu is confirmed as member of the Police Service Commission (PSC).
  • Barimoh Adogame Austin is confirmed as member of the Police Service Commission (PSC).
  • Barr. Rommy Mom is confirmed as member of the Police Service Commission (PSC).
  • Dr. Nkemka Oshimiri Jombo-Ofo is confirmed as member of the Police Service Commission (PSC).
