Buhari critic—Somto Onuchukwu arrested over social media post, released

Shortly after ElombahNews reported that Mr. Somto Onuchukwu was arrested over a post he made on social media, this media was informed that he has been released.

Another acquaintance of his, Emma Ik Umeh, meanwhile, has broken the news on Twitter:

@chosensomto has been released, special thanks to everyone that spoke on his behalf. Special thanks to everyone that came to the police station.”

A fervent critic of President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Somto Onuchukwu has been arrested in Abuja over a post he made on social media.

One Ibu Thomas, an acquaintance of Mr. Onuchukwu announced this on his Twitter handle on Friday.

He tweeted:

“#FreeSomtoNow-This is Somto Onuchukwu, he was arrested in kubwa, Abuja, this morning by the @PoliceNG for allegedly making post that is critical of @OfficialAPCNg administration. We heard the police is taking him to kubwa phase 4 police station. #KillTheMedia #KillDemocracy.”
