Buhari led FG should tell Nigerians what it knows about northern bandits – Activist

Comrade Paul Ikechukwu Njoku

TELL THE WORLD WHAT YOU KNOW ABOUT THE CHILLING STORY ON ‘HOW NORTHERN POLITICIANS CREATED BANDITS TO KILL NIGERIANS AND OUST JONATHAN’, ACTIVIST URGES FG

July 11, 2019

A comprehensive revelation on how northern politicians in Nigeria allegedly created Fulani bandits to oust former President Goodluck Jonathan from office and how Fulani bandits are killing Nigerians is being widely shared in the social media. This report has led many concerned citizens, groups and human rights activists to ask questions as well as seek genuine response from the presidency.

The story was curiously attached in a press statement sent to us by a human rights activist and author, Comrade Paul Ikechukwu Njoku, who urged the Federal Government and her collaborators to tell the World what they know about the killings in Nigeria as well as the chilling story of how northern politicians created bandits to oust Jonathan from the office.

“I was deeply shocked when I first read the story in the social media few hours ago. In my view, the story is justifiably true and valid as Nigerians face ethnic-cleansing and mass murder on daily basis by the Fulani herdsmen/armed bandits. When I tried to understand the story, it became obvious that the Buhari-led administration and its collaborators should come out clean and tell the World what they know about the detailed story of conspiracy of how northern politicians created Fulani bandits to oust ex-President Goodluck Jonathan. Similarly, they should also tell Nigerians why the Fulani murderers are killing Nigerians till date. This revealing saga should not be treated with kid’s gloves. The sad news unveiled how foreign Fulani mercenaries were secretly brought into Nigeria to undermine as well as remove former President Goodluck Jonathan from office in 2015.

“The narrative indicted President Muhammadu Buhari, the governor of Kaduna State, Mallam El-rufia, the immediate Defence Minister, Mallam Dambazo and Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association.

“Below is the sad story”

“It all started in April 2014 when Muhammadu Buhari assembled his ardent supporters, promoters and strategists to determine how to remove President Jonathan Goodluck. Prominent amongst them were El-Rufia, Dambazo (Rtd)……

A decision was reached to consult Miyatti Allah Cattle Breeders Association for assistance to boot Jonathan Goodluck out of office. Consequently, the National Chairman of Miyatti Allah was engaged to bring in foreign mercenaries. Within a month, 2, 000 Fulani fighters were brought in from Mali, Senagal, Niger Republic, Chad, Libya to name but a few. Further 4, 000 fighters were stationed in Niger and Chad on standby.

On arrival, they were assembled in Kaduna under the sponsorship of El-Rufai and were addressed by various Northern Leaders including the Sultan of Sokoto, Gen Buhari (Rtd) etc.

Specifically, Gen Buhari in his address told the fighters that “the British handed Nigeria over to us the Fulanis at Independence. The land (Nigeria) belongs to us. We must reclaim what belongs to us”. He added that at the event that Jonathan Goodluck won the election, the Fulani machinery must fight until they regain the country. He assured them that the Nigerian Army was behind them.

The mercenaries received initial training from the Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy and were sent to 6 camps in Ekiti State, Benue State, Katsina State, Kaduna State, Zamfara State and Borno State.

In the camps, brand new pick-up trucks, generators etc were provided to them. Nigerian Air force helicopters were used to provide them essential supplies like food, water, drinks and even arms and ammunitions.

Evidently, Jonathan Goodluck lost the election in 2015 through a well orchestrated election organised by INEC under a Fulani Chairman, Professor Jega. Gen Buhari (Rtd) was sworn in as the President. This saw the emergence of a Fulani President through a dodgy election hence the planned violent war was averted.

Contrary to expectation, the mercenaries in the various camps were abandoned, no more food and essential supplies. The relationship between Miyetti Allah, El-Rufia (now a State Governor) and Dambazo broke down. El-Rufia arrogantly declared that they were not needed anymore and they should go back. Consequently, killings in Kaduna commenced as a warning to El-Rufia but it did not bother him. He declared that he had paid the people carrying out the killings and they did not want to stop. The Nigerian police did not bother to call Governor El-Rufia to give further clarification on this.

The mercenaries at the various camps decided to go about to find food for themselves by robbing people, going into farm lands and kidnapping. Miyetti Allah made several efforts to contact El-Rufia and Dambazzo to appeal to them to provide money to return these fighters to where they came from. All efforts proved abortive. The mercenaries at this point vacated their organised camps and took to crime.

The criminal gangs which emanated from these mercenaries were at this point described as “Bandits” in order to differentiate them from other notorious terrorist groups like Fulani Herdsmen, Boko Haram etc.

Following the untold destruction and killings which the Bandits carried out especially in Katsina and Zamfara, the Northern leaders in conjunction with officials of Nigerian Government requested Miyatti Allah to intervene and remove the Bandits from Nigeria. Miyetti Allah returned demanding 150 Billion Naira to settle the Bandits and evacuate them. The Government turned the offer down and restricted itself to the payment of 100 Billion Naira.

Shamefully, Godwin Emefiele raised 100 Billion Naira for the settlement as a condition for his reappointment as the Central Bank Governor. Miyatti Allah collected the money and purportedly distributed it but nothing changed.

In a bid to control the damage, President Buhari directed that RUGA initiative be setup to create colonies for these fighters in every State in Nigeria.

My questions are:

1) Should Nigerian communities accommodate these criminal elements?

2) Why has El-Rufia not been called to clean up the mess he created?

3) Does this explain the President Buhari’s silence?

4) Is this a conspiracy of the North gone wrong”?
The End

“The above narrative is not only sad but leaves one heartbroken. In my view, this narrative is not far from the truth; otherwise, one cannot explain why there are still killings in the country after the 2015 Presidential Elections. Nigerians cannot be left to totally die like poisoned rats and reptiles in the face of ruthless servitude and unconventional genocide devoid of resistance and curiosity. If the prelude of our battered groins is as a result of an organised foreign murderers and the army of occupation who are maiming, raping our women and daughters, kidnapping, killing and annihilating us for our patrimony in the Buhari-led government, we should be circumspect in our protective and defence mechanisms. I don’t know why President Buhari’s led administration thinks it will succeed in their bid to relegate other 250 ethnic nationalities into subjugation and occupation of their patrimony?

“Does it sound counterfactual to suggest that an unreflective Fulani supremacist is the single greatest threat to members of their ethnic group and even to any cosmopolitan Nigerian of Fulani ethnicity? What is this deepening animus of the Fulani that we do not know? Why should they be feared, resented, reviled and avoided in their orgy of unconventional genocide against all other indigenous people of Nigeria?

“Should anyone expect Nigerians not to believe this narrative even as Buhari openly appointed himself as the Chief defender and spokesperson of the Fulani herdsmen? Who’s not aware that Buhari initially said that the Fulani do not carry guns but sticks; therefore, could not be responsible for the bloodstained violence credited to them? Apparently, when the facts later surfaced, President Buhari incontrovertibly contradicted his claims; he changed track and said that the Fulani who murder farmers with guns are not Nigerian Fulani but foreigners?

“Have you not heard that Buhari once said that the Fulani herdsmen that carry guns are foreigners trained and armed by Mahmar Gaddafi of Libya? He once said and I quote: “When Gaddafi was killed, the gunmen escaped with their arms, we encountered some of them fighting with Boko Haram”.

“In the aftermath of the horrendous mass slaughter in Benue State which provoked outrage across the country, Buhari told Benue elders who came to plead for his intervention that: “I ask you in the name of God to accommodate your countrymen”.

“Can you see the contradictions in the Buhari utterances? The ruthless killers cannot simultaneously be foreign Fulani “trained and armed by Gaddafi of Libya” and be the “countrymen” of their victims in Benue.

“Buhari’s spokesperson, Femi Adesina, in defence of “cattle colonies”, once told Nigerians to choose between their land and their lives. Buhari’s defence Minister, Gen. Dambazo, also routinely blamed the incessant bloodletting in Nigeria by the Fulani herdsmen on the enactment of “anti-grazing laws” in some States of the Federation; even without recalling that the Fulani herdsmen also kill in States where there are no anti open-grazing laws.

“A day after Fulani herdsmen massacred more than 200 people in Plateau State in June 2018, the Presidency issued the following statement: “According to information available to the Presidency, about 100 cattle had been rustled by a community in Plateau State and some herdsmen were killed in the process”. The Presidency gave this untruthful press statement without any official investigation which came as a defence to the herders and thus inflamed their passion for killing.

“There is no difference between the President’s media team and Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association; a reason why the government has been accused of colluding with our killers. It is obvious that the President’s media team now customarily issues press statements to defend Fulani herders and even justify the mass murders committed by the killer herders. In other words, Buhari and his collaborators should truly tell the World how the northern politicians created bandits who are killing Nigerians and also tell us who employed Fulani foreign mercenaries to oust Jonathan”. Comrade Paul have requested.
