Buhari writes Senate, owns up to ‘missing’ budget blunders

*Senate begins budget debate on Wednesday

Buhari had written an executive communication to the National Assembly notifying them on some corrected versions to the 2016 budget.

The Senate on Tuesday unanimously accepted and adopted the request for amendment of some sections of the 2016 budget proposal as written by President Muhammadu Buhari even as Upper Chamber will begin debate on budget on Wednesday.

President Muhammadu Buhari had written an executive communication to the National Assembly notifying them on some corrected versions to the 2016 budget. 

However, after the Senate President, Bukola Saraki read the letter, a motion was moved by Senate Leader, Senator Ali Ndume, on the letter earlier read on the floor by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

After adopting the amendments to the 2016 budget as requested by the presidency, Saraki thanked Senators for the unanimous decision and patriotism. 

Saraki also informed Senators that the debate on the general principles of the 2016 budget will commence on Wednesday.
