Coalition Of Civil Society Organisations Of Nigeria Suggest Empowernment Deal For IPOB

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu

…And Pro Biafran Groups .

The Coalition of Civil Society Organisations of Nigeria COSCON  has called on the federal government to implement an Empowernment programme for IPOB and pro-Biafran groups as it did for the Niger Delta Militants as one of the ways to assuage the pro- Biafran agitations in Igbo land. Also there should be a sort of Marshal plan for Igbo land , having borne the brunt of skewed policies of the federal government since the end of the civil war.

The National Co-ordinator of the group Chuks Ibegbu noted that this measure will go a long way to address the agitations in the area and reduce the tension in the country.

Chuks Ibegbu noted that no country survives two wars and nothing is cannot be solved in a roundtable. He also warned against the use of naked force to address agitations in any part of the country and the use of life bullets by security agents to quell agitations, especially non violent ones.

Chuks Ibegbu called on the federal government to take steps to probe the activities of governors who diverted the Bail out funds and the Paris club refunds thereby owing their pensioners and workers and causing unnecessary hardship to the masses.

He lauded the setting up of the committee to monitor the anti-corruption cases that have lingered in our courts since 1999.

On the move to reshuffle the federal cabinet , Chuks Ibegbu called on the President to sack incompetent Ministers and to carry all sections of the country in his appointments. He urged the federal government to expedite work on the railway projects in the country as a means of opening up the entire country and boosting businesses and economic development of the country.
