Court Sentences Cameroonian Cook To Death For Killing General’s Daughter

A High Court sitting in Igbosere, Lagos, has sentenced a Cameroonian cook, Leudjou Koyemen Joel, to death by hanging for the murder of Dayo Adeleke, on December 20, 2016.

The deceased was the daughter of the late Brigadier General Adekola Alfred Adeleke.

The presiding judge, Justice Adedayo Akintoye jound Joel guilty of one-count charge of murder despite his “Not guilty” plea after nearly two year of trial.

According to reports, the accused stabbed Adeleke in the neck and heart shortly after she returned from office following her refusal to give him a two-week salary advance he requested earlier in the morning.

He was apprehended while attempting to run away, said the police prosecutor.

His employer, late Dayo Adeleke had employed him following a request by the pastor of the church on compassionate grounds.

The convict is a refugee from Cameroon undergoing rehabilitation in the church in Lagos.
