A magistrate court in Kano on Friday bared the Kano state Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje from going ahead with the much anticipated debate between Sheikh Abduljabbar Kabara and Kano clerics.
Kano state government had fixed March 7th for the debate to thrash out grey areas of grievous misunderstandings between Abduljabar, and Kano Clerics.
Before now, the JNI under the leadership of Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar directed Kano Clerics to back out the debate, as he argued that Sheikh Abduljabar committed blasphemy against Islam by his documented utterances.
The latest action from the court was sequel to suit filed by a Kano based lawyer, Ma’auruf Yakasai that pleaded the court to stop Ganduje from organizing the debate.
During the proceeding, Justice Muhammad Jibrin while ordering the state government to postponed the debate, similarly adjourned the cased till 22 March, 2021.
