Removal of Senator Abdullahi Adams as chairman of Northern senators Forum has created division among the caucus as Senator Ali Wakili said there was no meeting on removal of the former governor as chairman of the caucus.
Coming under point of order , Senator Wakili expressed dissatisfaction with media reports on the removal of Senator Abdullahi as chairman.
He added that at no time the forummet and put to question any of the leaders of the northern senators forum.
He said that the lawmakers are taking this political brinkmanship beyond the level we are supposed to take it. We are supposed to be wise men.
In his words, “I come from the north and I am active member of the northern senators forum. At no time have we met and put to question any of the leaders of the northern senators forum.
“It was brought to this place and it was announced and some of our colleagues went to the press centre and made statements that referred to some of us are monkeys.”
Countering Senator Wakili point of order, Senate’s spokesman, Senator Sabi Abdulahi told the lawmakers that he made it clear during the briefing that he was representing the institution of the Senate though he belongs to the forum.
He added that he never hold brief for the forum while he was addressing the newsmen although some members of the group followed him to the press center.
It could be recalled that the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu announced the removal of Senator Abdullahi Adamu toward the end of plenary session on Wednesday as a result of financial mismanagement.
