Dangote refinery Indian staff shows Coronavirus symptoms, rushed to hospital
An Indian national, who is a contractor at the Dangote Refinery, Lagos, was on Tuesday, rushed to hospital and quarantined after he showed symptoms of Coronavirus.
This was confirmed by the spokesman for Dangote firm, Mr. Tony Chiejina, on Tuesday.
According to Chiejina, the contractor, was spotted coughing and running a high temperature on Monday when medical personnel were called in and whisked him away immediately for diagnosis.
He is currently in isolation in an undisclosed health facility.
He said the person was spotted during one of the routine medical checks at the refinery, adding that the case had not been confirmed.
Chiejina said a statement would be issued soon and called on Nigerians to remain calm.
Recently, the chairman of Dangote group and Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote released the sum of 200 million naira to support federal government’s effort in fighting the deadly virus following the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.
The federal government acknowledged receipt of the said donation in a statement obtained by ElombahNews.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control [NCDC] said that it was already investigating the matter.
