Defend Yourselves Against Herdsmen — TY Danjuma Tells Nigerians [VIDEO]

Former Defence Minister, Retired General Theophilus Y. Danjuma has asked Nigerians to arm and defend themselves against the marauding Fulani herdsmen wreaking havoc in the country.

Gen. Danjuma said this while speaking on the maiden convocation of Taraba State University.

He said: ”There is ethnic cleansing going on in Taraba and some state including the ones in riverine areas of the country facilitated by those in power.

”If you people are waiting for the soldiers to defend you, you will all die one by one.

”Stand up and defend your lands against the attackers as you have no other place to run to”.

The General, in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, slammed his main base – the military- accusing them for lacking neutrality in the ongoing herdsmen mayhems.

It could be recalled that the General Danjuma is from Taraba state and from Takum local government that lately has become the epicentre of the Taraba’s bitter experience with killer herdsmen.

Apart from the horrors of recently losing a member of the House of Assembly in this town, several attacks have been made in Takum.

Also, Governor Darius Ishaku is also from Takum, the hotbed of the herdsmen controversy.

He too has been very vocal about the notion that his place is not safe and has openly called for the removal of the Commanding Officer of the Army barracks in the area.

Darius has continuously maintained that he can’t guarantee anyone’s safety in the state since the security agents don’t take any orders from him.

The other day, he expressed fears that Taraba would be attacked in a matter of days, and so it happened.

In this latest scenario, Gen. Danjuma chose a convocation ground to raise the alarm.

Targetting young people, he shouted from the ivory tower to be heard loud and clear around the world.

Nigerians are now looking up to the military to see how they will react to this profound accusation, if the military would ignore or it or lash out against General Danjuma.
