Dino Melaye Moved from DSS Medical Centre to SARS
The embattled senator representing Kogi West at the National Assembly, Dino Melaye has been moved from the Department of State Security [DSS] Medical Centre.
ElombahNews was reliably informed that he was moved to the premises of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad [SARS] office located in Guzape, Abuja.
The police had on Friday moved the lawmaker to the medical facility of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abuja.
Force Public Relations Officer, Mr Jimoh Moshood, confirmed the development.
He explained that the lawmaker was indeed taken away from the Police Clinic to another government-owned medical facility after the senator and the police disagreed about his fitness to face trial.
Moshood revealed further that the police have obtained a warrant of arrest to detain the lawmaker.
According to him, the police secured the warrant from a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court to keep Senator Melaye for 14 days, which started from Wednesday, January 9.
Melaye is being prosecuted for culpable homicide involving a police officer.
The senator has been engaged in a running battle with the police hierarchy ever since he turned to opposition against the ruling party.
