Documents indict Tinubu of United States drug trafficking ring

Documents have emerged linking the Jagaban, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to trafficking of prohibited drugs, specifically Heroin, in the United States.

The documents, being court documents, exposed Tinubu, a political partner of President Muhammadu Buhari, as a former heroin trafficker.

Two decades ago, Tinubu was identified as a bagman for two Nigerian heroin movers — Adegboyega Mueez Akande and Abiodun Agbele, Akande’s nephew — who operated out of Chicago and Hammond, Indiana.

They were exposed to law enforcement after selling white heroin to one Lee Andrew Edwards, and then to an undercover cop.

IRS Special Agent Kevin Moss said in affidavit that Akande ran the white heroin ring in the late 1980s until 1990, when he handed off the U.S arm of the business to his nephew, who had arrived in 1988.

Akande then returned to Nigeria but reportedly continued to oversee the operation from abroad with the help of others at home and in the United States, including his relatives.

One of the individuals identified in his cartel by Moss was Tinubu.

He was then a Chicago State University-educated accountant working as a treasurer for Mobil Oil Nigeria Ltd, a subsidiary of energy giant Mobil Oil.

It also revealed that the former governor of Lagos State forfeited nearly half a million dollars to the U.S. Treasury Department.

The forfeiture followed after he was identified as an accomplice in a heroin-trafficking and money-laundering ring covering West Africa and the United States.

Tinubu was involved in a federal drug and racketeering investigation waged jointly by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Although his case has been bandied about for years, Tinubu rose to become a governor in Lagos State, as well as a national political figure and kingmaker.

Presently, in his party, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), he hold the title “National Leader” even though the title was not recognised in the constitution of the party.
