The Acting Dean, Faculty of Law, Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, Dr. Kareem Olatoye, has described the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun as an icon of visionary leadership and distinct transformation.
Olatoye made the assertion at the LASU Faculty of Law welcoming ceremony for Fagbohun organised by the Faculty on Monday in Lagos.
He said that Fagbohun brought transformation into LASU and impacted positively in the development of the institution which reflects in renovating our buildings, power supply, research grants and securing accreditation from the Nigerian Law School.
“The VC has done a lot for us although he gave priority to some other faculties.
“I am now using this medium to appeal to the acting Vice Chancellor and the incoming Vice Chancellor that they should also give priority to Faculty of Law,” Olatoye pleaded.
Also, Prof. Oyedamola Oke, Acting VC, LASU said that Fagbohun had made a big mark which would make his successor to work harder.
“My boss, Fagbohun has done very well, on behalf of all members of management, we enjoyed working with him and I pray that God will be with him.
“I am conscious that this position is interim, “he said.
Dr Taiwo Ajala, lecturer at Faculty of law, LASU said that Fagbohun shows that a lawyer could also be a good administrator.
In his remarks, Fagbohun attributed his success in office to the support of everyone, saying that all staffs and students were the heroes of the new LASU.
He said that he would commit and contribute his quota to Faculty of law, noting, “I feel so happy that my faculty is taking me back and thank you for supporting me during my period as VC,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 8th Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU) Ojo has handed over the reins of the institution to the acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof Oyedamola Oke.
A pull-out parade was also organised for Fagbohun by the security unit of the university to end his tenure. (NAN)
