Barely twenty-four hours after his arrest, the former National Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Umeh, has been released by the Department of State Services (DSS).
He was released on Friday morning.
Umeh was arrested on Thursday at his Aguluzigbo country home in Anambra State.
He was later whisked to Abuja for questioning on his alleged sponsorship of the pro-Biafra group, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The party’s Deputy Secretary, Chief Jerry Obasi, confirmed Umeh’s release.
He, however, alleged that the arrest was politically motivated by his political opponents.
