Easter: NSCDC Anambra deploys 1,936 personnel
The Anambra State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) has announced that it will deploy one thousand nine hundred and thirty six (1,936) officers and men for the forthcoming Easter celebration.
This was contained in an NSCDC Anambra State Command bulletin press release issued on Tuesday.
In the statement titled “Security arrangement for the “forthcoming Easter celebration”, the State Commandant of NSCDC Anambra State Command, David Bille assured Anambra residents of the Command’s readiness to perform its statutory responsibility of protection of lives and properties of innocent citizens in the State during the Easter celebration.
The statement was issued by Public Relations Officer Anambra State Command, ASC I Okadigbo Edwin, on behalf of the State Commandant of Anambra NSCDC, in view of the forthcoming Easter celebration on Sunday 4th April, 2021.
To this effect, the State Commandant ordered the deployment of 1,936 officers and men drawn from Counter Terrorism unit (CTU), Chemical Biological Radioactive Nuclear and Energy unit (CBRNE), Disaster response Unit, Medical, Crisis Management Unit, Special Force, Anti-Vandalism Unit and Critical Protection Unit (CIPU) to ensure adequate protection during and after the Easter Celebration.
The Command said that it will also collaborate with other sister security agencies in Joint Task Force (JTF) robust Patrol to ensure peaceful and hitch-free Celebration.
Personnel deployed for this critical assignment will be under strict instruction of the Commandant of Corps to be civil , act within the ambit of the extant laws.
They are advised to be firm and display high level of professionalism in dealing with the members of the Public in the discharge of their duties.
Furthermore, the Command assured that it is prepared to deal with hoodlums, miscreants and other disgruntled elements that may attempt to cause break down of law and order before, during and after the festive period.
Parents and guardians are therefore advised to be security conscious, and caution their wards to be law abiding.
Finally, Comdt. Bille extended his warm greetings to all Christian faithful and other residents in the state as they celebrate this year’s Easter Celebration.
He urged them to cooperate with NSCDC and other sister security agencies in their efforts towards ensuring peaceful celebration and equally report any suspicious action/ movement to the nearest NSCDC Formation for necessary action.
