Ebonyi community appeals to police for immediate arrest of LG boss, 4 ors over communal clashes & killings
Effium community in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State has appealed to the Nigeria Police Force for the immediate arrest of the current Council Chairman, Clement Odah and four other indigenes.
The community accused Odah and the other indigenes of being behind the alarming communal clashes and killings from which over 500 people were killed between January to March 2021.
According to reports, however, the communal clash is quite different from the attack by a Fulani militia in Ishielu.
Ebonyi has for some time witnessed inter-community clashes made more critical by the incessant attacks by Fulani herdsmen.
The Chairman of the Council of Elders of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Dr. Emmanuel C. Iwuanyanwu has condemned in strongest terms the recent attack on unsuspecting residents of Ebonyi State which reportedly left up to twenty persons dead.
Chief Iwuanyanwu made the remarks in a press release he personally signed on Thursday.
The former presidential aspirant expressed sadness at the attack and stated that if the federal government cannot protect its citizens, then Igbos will have no alternative than resort to self-defence.
