Ebonyi Residents Cry Out Over Houses Demolition For Airport Without Compensation

Resident of Umuezeoka Community in Ebonyi State have cried out to whom it may concern over malicious “demolition of houses at Ngamgbo Akwu village of the community at proposed site for citation of airport”.

The residents raised the alarm in an SOS made available to ElombahNews on their behalf by a well-meaning citizens, Rev. Ogboji Ezekiel.

In the SOS, Rev. Ezekiel narrated how the resident were were forced out of their houses with three bulldozers with no compensation paid.

He noted that journalist were barred from covering the scene by the security operatives following them.

Worse yet, many of the people do not have other land to build houses let alone of having a place to lay their head.

Ezekiel, however, exonerated the state governor, Mr. David Umahi, saying he is a good man, and might have no knowledge how bad the real people may have been affected.

He rather heaped blame on “bad people” who may be feeding the governor with lies that compensation has been paid, stressing that “it is total lies”.

See attached below the SOS:

The security following them refused people covering the scene by the journalist.

Many do not have other land to build houses let alone of having a place to lay their head.
