EFCC Operatives Nab Female Suspect Wanted By FBI In Edo
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission [EFCC] have arrested a suspected female fraudster [names withheld] in Edo State.
The anti-graft agency is presently collaborating with the Federal Bureau of Investigation [FBI] to unmask and arrest cyber criminal involved in the 80-man list released by FBI recently.
Head of Benin Zonal Office, Muhtar Bello disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists on Monday,
Bello said the female suspect was involved in obtaining and stealing people’s identification information which she forward to her American counterparts.
He also disclosed that the female suspect worked in collaboration with foreign counterpart in dark web.
He stated that the suspect received her informations through Bitcoin.
Further investigations revealed that about 185 Bitcoin currently worth N656 million was traced to her.
Recently, on August 30, ElombahNews reported that another FBI-wanted internet fraudster in the United States of America, Joseph Oyediran, was arrested by EFCC in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The Head of EFCC Ilorin Zonal Office, Mr. Isyaku Sharu disclosed this at a press conference while giving update on EFCC/FBI collaboration against internet fraud.
The commission also took to its twitter handle to announce the arrest of the suspect whom they said was the mastermind of a N60 million fraud.
