Ekiti: Fayemi Plots For Wife To Replace Him As Minister
The Minister of Solid Minerals, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has nominated his wife, Erelu Bisi Fayemi to replace him as Minister as he vie for Ekiti state governorship election, sources close to the Presidency has informed ElombahNews.
The source stated categorically that Dr. Fayemi has even submitted her Curriculum Vitae [CV] to President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, for approval.
ElombahNews gathered that Fayemi will resign at the end of the week.
His resignation, however, is already considered late as the statutory 30 days because going for primaries has elapsed.
Going by the mandate, Fayemi stands a chance to be technically disqualified by the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] for not complying with the law.
If INEC disregards the stipulated rules, he could be dismissed by any court if he wins the forthcoming governorship election.
Meanwhile, the former governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni has blasted Kayode Fayemi for bullying him while in and out as governor.
According to a report by Mr. Lere Olayinka,the Media Aide to Governor Ayodele Fayose, Segun Oni told Kayode Fayemi :
I was Governor, you aborted it, You removed my picture from govt house and said I was never a governor,
You want a second term I supported you,
I want to be National Deputy Chairman you presented and supported a different candidate,
You want to be Minister I supported you all through,
I established a university in my village u scrapped it.
I now want to be Governor at least to complete a term u blocked it,
Now that u want to be Governor again I am still supporting you,
I wonder what my sin would have been?
Also, in another report, Mr. Olayinka stated that Fayemi promised President Buhari that he will give Ekiti lands to Fulani herdsmen.
According to him, he promised to erect cattle colonies in Orin/Ora, Ise Ekiti, Otun Ekiti, Oke Ako, Ogotun, etc.
The promises, according to Olayinka was to secure Buhari’s support as well as the security apparatchiks during the election.
