Election: PDP Asks Gani Adam To Withdraw OPC Thugs Fayemi Imported Into Kogi
The Peoples Democratic Party Campaign Council in Kogi state has sought the intervention of traditional rulers over the invasion of Kogi west and Kogi east by members of the Odua Peoples Congress (OPC) for the governorship election in the state.
The council noted that the militias we’re brought into the state from Ekiti state to cause mayhem in the election.
The deputy director, public communication of the campaign council, Austin Okai, accused the Ekiti state governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, of drafting the OPC members to the two senatorial districts to aid the rigging plans of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Saturday election.
According to him, the OPC members, who are to operate in fake military uniform were brought in to the west and the east to ensure that the opposition parties did not win, while the central senatorial district where Governor Yahaya Bello, comes from is left for the APC to have a field day.
The party however appealed to the Department of State Security (DSS) to be weary of the antics of the people that were determined to cause crisis during the election, particularly in the strongholds of the opposition.
He said the militias have already been drafted to strategic areas of the state with the aim of taking instructions from government on how to perpetrate their illegal acts.
The statement however wanted the traditional, as the custodians of the society to prevail upon the governor not to throw the state into crisis because it is obvious that he would lose the governorship election.
The people of the state have endured the misrule of the Yahaya Bello led administration and are ready to come him out on Saturday.
