ElombahNews Begins “Anambra Is In Ruins!” Series
“Anambra Is In ruins!” Series 1
Consequent upon the unprecedented dilapidation of infrastructures witnessed in Anambra State over the past five years, ElombahNews in partnership with our correspondent, Mr. Odumodu Gbulagu, has commenced a series titled “Anambra Is In ruins!” to x-ray the decay going on in the state.
The series is designed to interrogate the Governor Willie Obiano-led Anambra government and appraise his response to the myriads of challenges bedevilling the State.
Today we begin with:
A typical street in Awka, the state capital
Our correspondent, Mr. Odumodu Gbulagu writes:
I do not know whether Gov. Willie Obiano’s e-rats are tired of singing how Obiano transformed the landscape of Awka. They will show the three good-to-be-demolished mounds of cement called flyovers as evidence.
They also claim that Awka roads are now in excellent condition.
If you ask them for concrete evidence, they will point at the work of Capital Territory Development Agency.
The truth is that under Obiano, Awka, like other parts of Anambra state is deteriorating.
Where are the much celebrated automatic road patching vehicles acquired by the Governor for ARMA?
To show you how bad it is, let me post pictures of the state of one of the busiest and most important road in Awka- S Okeke St, connecting works road to Zik’s Avenue( Zenith Bank). If you ply that road, you will cry for Anambra State. Yet it is not up to 300 meters.
Anambra is in ruins!
No wonder Awka is called “a glorified village”!!
