Emotions Fly As Nigerians Blast FG Over Dapchi Girls Release
Nigerians have reacted in various and emotional ways to the release of Dapchi school girls released on Wednesday by Boko Haram terrorists.
Below are some of the reactions as captured on Twitter by ElombahNews:
Femi Fani-Kayode @realFFK:
Happy that the Dapchi girls are home. Saddened that 5 died. The day the truth comes out about what really happened to the Chibok and Dapchi girls and those that were behind these 2 scams, Nigerians will be shocked and they will spit on the graves of Buhari and his collaborators.
Mr Stanley Nwabia @MrStanleyNwabia:
If indeed the Dapchi saga was (in addition to being a Ransom racket) a PR stunt designed to revive and sustain Buhari’s Messianic/Heroic status, it has failed, Woefully.
1). Dapchi girls were abducted
2). Buhari said he handled Dapchi better than GEJ handled Chibok.
3). Dapchi girls were returned in a convoy.
4). Journalists are denied access to Dapchi to monitor the return.
Are you with me?
Kola Ologbondiyan @officialKolaO:
#Dapchi: A poorly crafted tragicomedy lacking intelligence and tact. A scam of no equal dimensions the world over. @OfficialPDPNig had repeatedly warned about conspiratorial plots advanced by @APCNigeria interests to gain heroic attainments..
John Danfulani @john_danfulani:
Those who behind the Dapchi girls movie, are very amateurish. They left many dots, unconnected.Poor scripting.Poor timing.Poor stagging.
Femi Aribisala @femiaribisala:
Nigerian politics has now reached such a pathetic level that innocent Dapchi school-girls are kidnapped and released so do-nothing governments can claim victory. Anyone who believes this orchestrated nollywood drama is a fool.
Babasola Kuti @SKSolaKuti:
Journalists barred from Dapchi to witness the release of the girls… Everyone else allowed in but journalists… Smh
President Carter @psalmcarter:
So Boko Haram came peacefully to God knows where, drop Dapchi girls peacefully and returned peacefully to their “nest” without being seen. Interesting!
Joe Parkinson @JoeWSJ:
Dapchi is jubilant — families have been reunited. Wonderful news for the town, and now lots of questions about the price and motivation for the Barnawi faction to surrender the girls quickly.
Why Boko Haram returned with the Dapchi girls is simple; no opposition turned the kidnap into a political currency so keeping the girls has no value to them. Chibok was a different story because it had a political undertone and got international attention.
Festus Keyamo, SAN @fkeyamo:
Our elation at the return of Dapchi girls must be subdued by the news of the death of some. Let’s put politics aside & applaud the rescue as an end which justifies whatever means was used. All sincere BringBackOurGirls advocates have always insisted on rescue, no matter the means
That Andy @AndyMadaki:
Great to hear that the Dapchi girls have been returned. Questions to ask:
Where was the army when Boko Haram drove from where ever they were and dropped the girls and left? Did govt negotiate quietly and pay BH? Are we indirectly funding BH or maybe elections? Just asking…
Adetutu Balogun @Tutsy22:
#Dapchigirls girls have been returned, some dead. Government paid Boko Haram, allowed them to drive them back to Dapchi town, drop them without any arrest. Wow!!!
Adetutu Balogun @Tutsy22:
Security Forces prevent Journalist from entering Dapchi, after Boko Haram returned kidnapped Girls.
The Great Oracle @AbdulMahmud01:
BH took 110 girls from Dapchi without resistance. A month and a day later, BH dropped the girls off in Dapchi. What a Kafkaesque story!
Adeyanju Deji @adeyanjudeji:
There’s a special place in Hell Fire for members of this government who played politics with the lives of 110 Dapchi girls. Only God knows how many times these girls were raped in the name of proving a point by Buhari. No wonder he confidently used Red Carpet.
Ajibola Ayodeji @jhybolar:
If this news is anything to go by, Shekau will have is address video in Duplex or mansion the last was done in a brick built house. Money has change hands and APC goons will jubilate that DAPCHI GIRLS were rescued unlike Chibok. Reelection campaign and achievement.
Eze Eluchie @Ezeluchie:
I admit, I was fooled by the Dapchi ‘abductions’! These chaps are utterly shameless – using terror/abductions as a tool of politics
