Ethnic Youths Coalition Interim Ex-Co Dissolved

Election to hold in September

In a bid to strengthen national integration and promote nationality unity, harmony and peaceful coexistence for one Nigeria youth leaders of major ethnic nationalities in the country under the aegis of Coalition of Ethnic Nationality Youth Leaders of Nigeria (CENYLON) converged in Abuja on Tuesday 28th of August, 2018 to chart a way forward for the umbrella body.

The meeting which was convened under the auspices of the National Advisory Council (NAC) of all the President of Ethnic Youth Nationality in Nigeria had as top of the agenda dissolution of interim executive that was led by Alhaji Yerima Shettima Arewa Youth Leader and the constitution of new elected leadership.

According to the release, the rationale for dissolution of the interim executive is as a result of completion of its acting period and that CENYLON should have elected offices in order to expedite the implementation of its lofty objectives, especially now that the country is in dire need of peace, unity and security.

After the brainstorming session, it was agreed that a new leadership of this Apex Nigeria Youth Group would emerge through a credible and all-embracing election.

It was resolved that the leadership that is expected to emerge is one that would show ability and capacity to weather the storm of discontent among the various ethnic youths and political interests in Nigeria they would show capability and integrity to protect the indigenous Nigeria ethnic groups and lead the youths to a new political leadership and development in this time of our nascent democracy where the role of politics has been discarded by some politicians are turn our youths into political thuggery are bewilderment.

The release admonished youth leaders to consider the dissolution a coin of vantage to vie for office and also serve this organization and the country at large.

The following offices were declared vacant and zones to the existing six (6) geopolitical zones:

  • National President- Southwest
  • Deputy President- Southeast
  • National Secretary- Northwest
  • Treasurer- South South
  • Publicity secretary- Northeast
  • Organizing secretary- North Central
  • Dir of mobilization- South South
  • Financial Secretary- Northeast
  • Ass Secretary- Southeast
  • Dir of welfare- North central
  • Dir of sport- Northwest
  • Legal adviser- Southwest

The release urged ethnic youth leader to help encourage peaceful co-existence in their domains and be good ambassador of Nigeria’s unity.

It said that beside religious crises, ethnicity is a major issue challenging the country’s peace which has permitted every socio-political and Economic sector and that the platform will serve as a remedy to this imbroglio.

It thanked the dissolved interim leadership for its effort in sustaining the group as far and for holding in trust its confidence  and integrity of the group.
