EX-Anambra Senators Beg Victor Umeh To Withdraw Election Petition Against Ekwunife
Anambra central former senators move to broker deal By Eneh Victor Chigozie
The former senators from Anambra central senatorial zone of Anambra state have written to the distinguished senator Victor Umeh appealing to him to withdraw his election petition at the election petition tribunal Awka.
The 5 former senators in a press release appealed to Chief Umeh to accept the outcome of the February 23 national assembly election in good fate and support senator Iyom Uche Ekwunife in order to avoid an endless litigation that will leave negative impact on the zone.
The former senators who signed the press statement are; Senators Ben Ndi Obi, Ikechukwu Abana, Mike Ajegbo, Annie Okonkwo and Ebenezer Ikeyina.
These 5 eminent leaders and former senators from Anambra central senatorial zone said, “we cannot continue to watch our zone suffer. The general interest of the people is more important than personal interest.”

The former senators said they have prevailed on Hon Ekweazor of PPA and Barr Tony Chukwuelue of SDP to withdraw their petitions against Ekwunife and therefore beckoned on Chief Umeh to do same.
These elder statesmen are hopeful that chief Umeh will oblige them as we wait to receive the response of Chief Umeh to this appeal.
