The former Transition Chairmen who served in the 21 Councils in Anambra State have threatened to work against the re-election bid of the incumbent governor, Chief Willie Obiano i his re-elect

They also vowed to frustrate the plot by the former governor of the State, Chief Peter Obi  to serve his third term agenda through the imposition of the former Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Oseloka Obaze as the governor after the poll.

The position of the former Chairmen was made known in a press statement made available to newsmen and signed by the Chairman of the group, Chief Charles Chigbata, Secretary, Hon. Tochukwu Nwasike and Public Relation Office (PRO), Okwunwanne Basil, after their meeting in Awka yesterday.

The group operating under the name  of Association of Former Transition Committee in Anambra State said they would take the action following the failing of governor Obiano to pay all the  entitlements  from 2011 to 2013.

The former Transition Committee Chairmen  were appointed by the former governor Obi in 2011 through 2013 and their appointment was signed by former Secretaries to the State Government, Chief Paul Odenigbo and Mr. Oseloka Henry Obaze after which same was  eventually ratified by the Electoral College (Anambra State House of Assembly).

The signatories said their members were later  drafted to serve as coordinators of 326 wards in the state in the bid to elect Chief Obiano as the governor of Anambra State in 2013 ad diligently discharged their assignment to the letter but   froned upon the inability of the Anambra State government of All Progressive Grand Alliance, led by Governor Obiano wto reciprocate their good gesture.

The signatories regretted that  since the expiration of their tenure, they were yet to receive their entitlements which include severance package, 28 days in office and wardrobe allowances from the state government which other political appointees such SSG, commissioners, SAs/SSAs have duly received.

The communiqué reads in part: “We were nominated by various communities in the state and was elected by the Electoral College (Anambra State House of Assembly), hence, we are entitled for all our benefits as councilor.

“During a meeting with one of the members of APGA BOT  and Spiritual director of Ogilisi igbo foundation, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka at Rojenny Tourist Village, Oba, the Special Adviser to governor Obiano on Political Matter, Hon. Chinedu Obidigwe, promised to ensure that our entitlements is paid, even though he was of the opinion that we were deceived by Mr. Peter Obi who ought to have pay us before leaving the office in 2014.

“We are saying that if other political appointees in that state such as Secretary to the State Government, Commissioners, Special Advisers, among other others have received their entitlements, the appointed councilors also qualified to receive their entitlements”.

The association’s representatives while insisting that the are on the ground with their numerical strength of over 2000 members and multitude of followers across the 326 wards in the state to pay back to Obaze of PDP whom they said had a stake in the appointment like the sitting governor.

Insisting that even if Obi did not pay them, they made bold to say that Gov. Obiano whom they sacrificed a lot in ensuring he clinchéd the governorship position in the state should, as a matter of gratitude, pay them.

They were also threatened to form pact with candidate of any political party who would be ready to recognize and attain their request, as they did in 2013,
