Fake News! US Denies Student Visa Ban For Nigerians
Recognises achievement and service of Omowale Ogunrinde
The Embassy of the United States in Nigeria has denied reports announcing Student Visa ban for Nigerians, saying it is false.
The Embassy disclosed this on its official Facebook Page on Monday.
In a short message, it wrote:
“Alert! Be advised, reports of Student Visa ban for Nigerians is false.
“If you have seen such manufactured item on Facebook and Twitter or received it via WhatsApp, please communicate that it is false.”

In another statement, the U.S. Embassy has recognised the achievement of Omowale Ogunrinde.
Ogunrinde, according to the embassy, is an International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) Alumna and the founder of Field of Skills and Dreams (FSD), a vocational, technical and entrepreneurship training academy
· The statement, titled “#NigerianStar: In recognition of achievement and service to Nigeria and Nigerians“, reads:
“Omowale Ogunrinde is an International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) Alumna and the founder of Field of Skills and Dreams (FSD), a vocational, technical and entrepreneurship training academy.
“Mrs. Ogunrinde has a passion for helping young Nigerians develop the vocational, technical and entrepreneurial skills to enable them to set up small sustainable businesses and reduce unemployment among the nation’s youth.
“FSD’s graduates have created over 10,000 jobs as a result of training programs in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Calabar, Kuje, Ibadan, Ijebu Ode, Kaduna, Mokwa and Uyo,” the statement concludes.
