Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has evicted the Revenue Mobilization and Fiscal Allocation Commission (RMAFC) from property occupied by the agency in Ekiti State.
The Acting Chairman of the agency, Shetimma Abba-Gana told this to the Senate Committee on National Planning and Economic affairs.
Shetimma who appeared before the Senate Committee to defend 2017 budget described the governor of Ekiti state as a difficult person.
He explained that the governor decided to throw the agency out of the building when he told them to buy the property knowing full well that the agency cannot even afford to pay the rent.
He said: “They said we should buy or leave knowingly well that the agency cannot pay rent.
“The governor is very difficult person. So, we left.”
It could be recalled that Governor Ayo Fayose on in January issued seven-day ultimatum to defaulting Federal Government agencies occupying Ekiti State Government’s property to vacate same.
Fayose insisted that the agencies must comply with its directive by either buying the property they are presently occupying or paying the normal rent on them.
