Former political appointees of the Imo State House of Assembly, who served the state meritoriously between June 2011 and June 2015 has again beseeched Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha [above] to sympathize with their current plight and order for the release of their May salaries.

This is even as the Appointees commended the Governor for clearing the backlog of salaries owed the House of Assembly civil servants.

Briefing journalists after their weekly prayer meeting in Owerri, the appointees who are mostly members of the Ruling All Progressive Congress [APC], reaffirmed their commitment and support to the Governor Okorocha led administration in the state.

They, however, urged the Governor to remember them, as he is clearing backlog of salaries and pensions of his people.

Speaking on behalf of the appointees, Ikechukwu Emeole dismissed insinuations’ in the media that the appointees have been used and dumped to die of hunger by the administration.

He maintained that the Governor has never owed them salaries except for the May salary that is in contention, but has shown good intentions and commitment towards improving their lot by paying them promptly before May.

He urged the Governor to show mercy towards their plight by ordering the release of their one month salary which he said is their life line.

That is considering the fact that their entitlements were not paid them but declared their commitment to corroborating with relevant authorities to negotiate a way out.
