Former Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Mrs Elizabeth Ativie has finally buckled and returned the official vehicles in her possession to the House.
Elizabeth Ativie is the lawmaker representing Uhunmwode constituency.
Elombah.com learnt that Mrs Ativie had ignored orders that she return the cars which numbered in all four.
The said vehicles included one Prado jeep and two Hilux vans.
At the last update, she has finally returned three out of the four cars with promises to also recover the fourth one, a 2016 Lexus jeep, which she claimed has been sold.
Recall that Mrs Ativie, along with her deputy, Dr. Justin Okonoboh and the former Majority Leader, Mr Foly Ogedengbe were impeached over some misconduct.
Citing reasons for her refusal to return the said vehicles, she claimed that they were given to her for personal use by the former governor, Adams Oshiomhole.
According to her, Oshiomhole gave her the vehicles as compensation for the sacrifices she made in the interest of peace when she was impeached.
Ex-governor Oshiomhole, however, denied the claim and warned her to return the vehicles, failure of which she will face prosecution.
Returning the vehicles, she wrote the House and assured that she was taking steps to recover the fourth vehicle from the buyer.
She also apologised to the House for any inconveniences the delay might have caused.
The Speaker, Mr. Kabiru Adjoto, confirmed the receipt of the three vehicles on Tuesday.
The House of Assembly has since confirmed receipt of the vehicles.
