Full COVID19 Africa Update: Cases, Deaths, Recoveries

AfricaCDC has released its COVID19 update in Africa for Monday, May 11, 2020.

AfricaCDC is a technical institution of the African Union [AU] strengthening the capacity of Member States to respond quickly and effectively to disease threats.

According to AfricaCDC, as of 11 May 2020, 9am, 53 African Union member states reported a total of 63,235 cases, 2,290 deaths, and 21, 821 recoveries.

Leading the pack of new Coronavirus cases in Africa are South Africa — 595, Egypt — 436, and Cameroon — 305.

South Africa

  • Total Cases: 10,015
  • Total Deaths: 194
  • Total Recovered: 4,173

Egypt

  • Total Cases: 9,400
  • Total Deaths: 525
  • Total Recovered: 2,075

Cameroon

  • Total Cases: 2,579
  • Total Deaths: 114
  • Total Recovered: 1,465
