Ghana Embassy Demolition: Reps seek reprisal action
Lawmakers of the House of Representatives have asked the federal government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari to take reprisal action against Ghana.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila hinted at this during an interactive session with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Onyema on Tuesday.
The decision is premised on the recent demolition of Nigeria’s Embassy building in that country.
Speaking, Hon. Gbajabiamila asked the Nigerian Government to invoke the diplomatic principle of reciprocity against Ghana.
He said the demolition is a breach of Nigeria’s sovereignty in that country, hence the need to respond in kind.
