Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State and current Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio who was involved in a motor accident has returned to Nigeria after
undergoing treatment in a London hospital.
Elombah.com gathered that he returned to Nigeria late Tuesday night from the Nnamdi Azikiwe Internatonal Airport, Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory after about one month sick leave.
It could be recalled that the former governor escaped death after his car got involved in an accident along Airport Road in Abuja on Monday, 31 August 2015 and was rushed to hospital.
He was later flown to London in an air ambulance for further treatments.
Eye witnesses say Akpabio’s car was involved in an accident along the Airport Road in Abuja near the Bolingo Junction close to the Ship House.
The former Akwa Ibom governor was moving in a convoy of vehicles towards the City Gate when his vehicle ran into another car.
Elombah.com reported that the accident occurred after Akpabio’s own car disobeyed traffic light, rammed into another car, then crashed.
The accident reportedly took place near the Bolingo Junction close to the Ship House, Abuja.
A witness said Mr. Akpabio was moving in a convoy of vehicles towards the City Gate when his vehicle ran into another car.
