Gov. Fayemi replies Uboh, “demands N5b upfront after his attempted 10% demand fails”, threatens legal action

Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State and Chairman of Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has been accused by Dr. George Uboh of demanding N5 billion upfront after his alleged attempt to extort 10% failed.

This was contained in a memo sent to ElombahNews by Dr. Uboh, the chairman of George Uboh Whistleblowers Network [GUWN], after Governor Fayemi replied to his accusation made last week accusing him of attempting to rip him and his associates of 10% of judgement payment.

Recall that George Uboh accused Fayemi of demanding 10% from the four Paris Club judgment creditors — George Uboh included — asking Fayemi to stop his pontification and demagoguery.

Governor Fayemi has responded via a letter captioned “Pre-Action Notice”, threatening to sue Uboh unless Uboh retracts his publication and apologize within 7 days.

In the letter, Fayemi demanded N5 billion Naira “upfront” from Uboh.

The Whistleblower insisted that “such demand of money upfront before you file a suit is not grounded in law or common sense”, hence Uboh construed the demand as a “shake down” or “extortion”.

He posited that because Fayemi failed in his attempt to demand 10% from the judgment creditors, he has resorted to another frivolous attempt to extort from him.
