Governor Fayose Receives Federal Allocation For June
Barely a week after his candidate lost in the Ekiti State governorship election which took place last weekend, the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government has just released the Ekiti State federal allocation for the month of June.
It was gathered that Governor Fayose received N5,539,779,370.50.
It could be recalled that Fayose had been crying to whoever cares to listen that the federal government is withholding the state allocations which has disabled him not to pay salaries to workers.
In his own words: “President Buhari is starving Ekiti people. He has refused to release Ekiti State allocations”.
ElombahNews gathered that the state owed workers’ salaries of up to eight months
The Rivers State governor, Mr. Nyesom Wike reportedly intervened at some point and paid off one month salary.
Reacting to the workers’ salaries saga, the president of the Nigeria Labour Congress [NLC], Comrade Ayuba Wabba had congratulated Dr. John Kayode Fayemi on his election as the governor-elect of Ekiti State.
On the other hand, he berated the outgoing governor, Ayodele Fayose, saying that the non-payment of workers salary and pension by the outgoing government was enough reason for the vote of no confidence by the people.
