Governor Sanwo-Olu excited after 5 coronavirus patients discharged
Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has expressed excitement following the discharge on Monday f five coronavirus patients at Infectious Disease Centre, Yaba Mainland Hospital bringing to eight the total number of patients discharged from the centre.
The patients were quarantined at the isolation centre for weeks and looked stable and unruffled.
Following their discharge, Governor, Sanwo-Olu, in reaction on his Twitter handle, said:
I am excited to announce some positive news ahead of our lockdown.
We have just discharged 5 formerly positve #COVID19 patients from our Infectious Disease Hospital after treatment and multiple testing by our specialists.
Congratulations to the healthcare team and the patients.
The preservation of life is very important and this lockdown will help us trace and stop the spread of #COVID19.
We have increased capacity at all levels and I want to assure Lagosians that no matter what happens in the days ahead we can beat this.
Recall that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control [NCDC] had reported that fourteen new cases of #COVID19 were confirmed in Nigeria; 9 in Lagos and 5 in FCT
