Professor Gregory Ibe, the Chancellor of Gregory University, Uturu-Okigwe in Abia State, has, on Monday, instructed Gregory University to offer scholarship to the two Igbo students denied admission because of their age.
The two students were denied admission by the University of Lagos [UNILAG] because they are “too young”, one of them being just 15 years old.
The two, meanwhile, scored highest in the recently-conducted Joint Admission and Matriculation Board [JAMB] examination.
UNILAG, however, denied them admission despite the feat because of their age.
Reacting, Professor Ibe said that there’s nothing wrong in starting university at that age.
He stated that his first son entered university at 15 in USA too and that it would be wrong to discourage those kids by discriminating against them because of their age.
