A Communique Issued By YYC Emergency National Executive Meeting
….on 3rd nov,2016. On the recent threat by the militants, promising to attack Lagos and Ogun States.
The Yoruba Youth Council, National Apex umbrella body of Yoruba youth groups resolved after a thorough deliberation on the attack of Yoruba community.
(1) We write to condemn the provoking activities of the millitants from the south-south region who had made it a perennial obligations to always unleash and infect terror on Yoruba communities including the attack of Arepo town in Ogun state where countless loss were recorded, even the recent press publication in newspapers by the militants to unleash terror in Lagos and Ogun state again.
(2) We are expressing our displeasure to the way and manner in which the ugly development is being treated by the leaders of the region and also praying that its re-occurences will not alter the painstaking invested harmony as we have resolved not to condone and tolerate such undue attack on any part of Yoruba speaking communities.
(3)As a voice of Yoruba youths. The national body will do everything possible to protect its nation, and We call on Chief Edwin Clark and other bridge making leaders of south-south region for the timely mediation on the issue in order to forestalls the looming and unprecedented crisis between the people of the region and the Yoruba’s that could becloud the next attack on any of Yoruba territories
