One man was lynched to death while two others were killed by police bullets in Kaduna after a resident, one Alhaji Musa Imam, raised alarm that the men were kidnappers.
ElombahNews learnt that Musa Imam jumped bail while still on trial in Lagos and escaped to Kaduna.
The three of his friends, who were his sureties, trailed him back to Kaduna where they grabbed him.
On getting to the Kawo Bridge in Kaduna, he raised alarm that the men were kidnappers and that they were about to kidnap him.
Their driver was lynched at the spot while police operatives killed three other persons all due to Imam’s fake alarm.
His scream attracted a mob who lynched the driver of the vehicle conveying the three men while the two others ran to a nearby filling station where they were rescued by policemen.
In the process of trying to get the men out from the scene, security agents shot some other persons.
Meanwhile, after attracting the mob which went after the men and killed the driver, Alhaji Imam escaped.
Presently, police has taken Imam into custody after realising that he raised false alarm that led to the death of the innocent victims.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Kaduna state, DSP Yakubu Sabo, in a statement said Alhaji Imam was arrested at about 5:00pm on Tuesday.
DSP Sabo disclosed that one of the three persons shot in the ensuing fracas after the mob tried to lynch the three men also died.
That brought the number of casualties to three.
He said that investigation is ongoing and that Imam will be made to face justice accordingly.
