I recovered N20 billion excess charges from banks – Moghalu
A former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria has said the apex bank recovered nearly N20 billion in excess charges back to customers from banks, during his tenure.
My Kingsley Moghalu said that by the time he completed his five-year tenure in November 2014, the bank had recovered nearly N20 billion of excess charges.
The former presidential candidate who stated this on Twitter also said public officers must be accountable for how they discharge/d any public service opportunity given to us by our country.
“On bank changes we created for the first time a Financial Consumer Protection Department in central bank under my direct supervision. By the time I completed my five-year tenure in November 2014 we had recovered nearly N20 billion in excess charges back to customers from banks.”

Earlier, the 2019 Presidential Candidate for Young Progressives Party (YPP) said to achieve good governance is not “rocket science”.
He listed six elements of good governance as Effectiveness (not rhetoric, propaganda or “good intentions”.), Transparency – builds trust, Accountability to citizens, Rule of Law, Inclusion and participation (diversity management/consultation) and Efficiency.
