I was not grilled by DSS or any Agency, its fake news —Akpabio
The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio has denied the report that he was grilled by the Department of State Security (DSS) over massive fraud in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Senator Obot Akpabio took to his official Twitter handle on Tuesday to refute the report, saying it is “fake news”.
According to the Senator, the news was published by Point Blank News, an online media.
The report further states that Akpabio was grilled alongside NDDC Managing Director, Prof Pondei Kemabradikumo and the NDDC Executive Director of Projects, Dr Cairo Ojougboh.
Responding, Akpabio tweeted:
“The attention of the Honourable Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio has been drawn to another piece of fake news from POINT BLANK NEWS titled: “DSS grills Akpabio, Pondei, Ojougboh over massive fraud in NDDC.”
“We wish to state categorically that this is a piece of concoction manufactured from the pit of hell.
“It is a figment of the imagination of the author of the fake news as the Hon. Minister has not been “grilled” by the DSS or any Agency over the contrived allegations.
“It is obvious that Point Blank News has been recruited by people who have fleeced the Niger Delta people through contract scams and they are scared of the ongoing forensic audit of the NDDC as ordered by President Muhammadu Buhari,” he noted.
