Former Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin has alleged that former governor of Delta State, James Ibori donated $600,000 to speakership campaign of Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara in 2015.
Ibori had just finished his jailed term in United Kingdom over misappropriation of funds belonging to Delta State government between 1999-2007.
During celebration of Ibori freedom from prison, Senator Peter Nwaboshi said Ibori contributed to emergence of Dogara as speaker of House of Representatives.
However Dogara quickly denied the report.
But, in a tweet released by suspended member of House of Representatives, Jibrin alleged that Ibori gave $600, 000 to Dogara during his campaign as speaker of the house.
According to him, since he has disown Ibori, he should at least have the honour to return the $600,000 Ibori donated to his speakership campaign.
Source closed to the House also revealed that Jibrin was one of the sponsors of Dogara during the speakership election in the house.
