I’d Rather Resign From Politics Than Fight Oshiomhole Or Decamp To PDP —Sen. Alimikhena

The Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Francis Alimikhena has disassociated himself from the ongoing rumour of Working against the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the 2019 general election.

Senator Alimikhena issued the disclaimer through his Personal Assistant to on media and publicity Mr. Benjamin Atu on Friday.

According to Mr. Atu, some miscreants were sponsored  to organised a kangaroo Press Conference in Benin by desperate Edo North Senatorial aspirants.

He said that their aim is “to create disunity between Senator Francis Alimikhena and the Party leadership ahead of the forth coming APC primary”.

In a swift reaction to the press conference and rumour of working against the party, Atu condemned the misleading story against the personality of the Senator.

Senator Francis Alimikhena

In his words, “Senator Francis Alimikhena would rather resign from politics than for him to work against his personal brother or decamp to any other political party as currently being circulated by desperate politicians”.

He called on APC leadership not to regard any of such rumour as currently been circulated by desperate Senatorial aspirants in Edo North.

Senator Francis Alimikhena said he would rather resigned from active politics rather than joining the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) or any other political party to fight against his personal brother who is the APC National Chairman.

Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is Edo North leader and it behooves on all of us to pray for him, support him and join him to achieve the National task given to him rather than creating tension for him and avenue to create division in the Edo North APC.

The statement described the  sponsor of such unguided utterances as enemy of democracy who do not wish Comrade Adams Oshiomhole well.

He urged them to withdraw their words and not distract the efforts of the APC National Chairman in his mission to unite the ruling party.

He described the press conference that was organized in Benin as the handiwork of desperate Edo North politicians and God in heaven will judge them in the right time.

The Edo North Senator, therefore, cautioned politicians and Senatorial aspirants in Edo North and those with unprecedented capacity for lies and Blackmailing to tread cautiously.

As major actors in the politics he advise them to avoid making frivolous and unguided utterances that could unwittingly incite the generality of the public and create hostility across the State.

Benjamin Atu  challenged the sponsors and circulators of the baseless press statement to go ahead and publish the report showing the steps he (Alimikhena) has taken so far to join the opposition party.

He cautioned against endangering the ongoing peace and unity across Edo North APC family in their desperation to secure the APC senatorial ticket which is not available.

Senator Alimikhena expressed confidence in facing any aspirant in any election.

He said his performance and achievement has laid legislative developmental benchmark in Edo State and his achievement is sufficient to speak for him in any election.

He frowned at the Kangaroo Press Conference that was organized to discredit his personality and create disunity between him and his leader, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

He, therefore, called on the leadership of the APC and the National Chairman, Comrade Oshiomhole to disregard any publication published by enemy of democracy because he (Senator Francis Alimikhena) will remain with APC for life.
