…To Visit Key Igbo Leaders And Northern Leaders On The Tour.
The IGBO PEOPLES CONGRESS AND THE IGBO ABORIGENES will begin a tour of the entire North in the wake of the Quit Notice by some Arewa Youths.
The tour will take the two groups to all parts of the North where they would see key Igbo leaders and groups. They would also see key Northern leaders and groups.
The aim of the tour is to feel the pulse of Igbos in the North and to calm frayed nerves in the region and the country. They will also use the opportunity to preach against Hatred and Hate songs.
Meanwhile the Arewa Centrer for Peace and Justice has visited the Igbo Peoples Congress and the Igbo Aborigines, two groups at the forefront of Igbo Rennaisance .The group led by Alh Tijjani Idris appealed to Ndigbo to forgive the Arewa Youths that issued the quit notice to them and see it as one of the challenges in nation building. The Arewa groups called on the Northern leaders to caution the Arewa Youths and to stop the hate songs spreading in the North against Igbos.
They thanked the Igbos for living in peace with Arewa people in Igbo land and assured Ndigbo in the North of their safety. They warned those fanning the embers of disunity to refrain from such acts in their own interest.
Meanwhile , the IGBO PEOPLES CONGRESS AND THE IGBO ABORIGENES have assured all Northernere living in Igbo land of their safety and freedom . They also called on those speading hate songs in the North to stop such act so as not to worsen the already tense situation in the country. Pastor Okey Colbert and Mazi Chidi Obisike spoke for the Igbo Peoples Congress and the Igbo Aborigen.
